FFA Member Participation

Junior FFA members are limited to only being able to participate in livestock shows through the Forestburg FFA.  It is HIGHLY recommended that a Junior FFA member also be an active member of the Forestburg 4-H so that the student may benefit from other activities.

Every high school FFA member should take advantage of the variety of activities that the FFA has to offer. We will recognize those members of the FFA who have actively participated in the many activities offered. Each different activity that an FFA member participates in will be worth one point. This system will also be used to determine what members can qualify to go to State and National FFA Conventions.

It will also be used to help select the various star awards. Sign in sheets will be at each activity held; please make sure you sign your name on the sheet to receive credit. At the end of the first semester, there will be a participation party for the top 12 students with the highest number of points.

For State Convention, chapter officers and award winners are allowed the first opportunity to attend. The remaining spots available will be awarded to the students with the highest number of points from the prior year. In the event there are more students eligible to attend than spots available, adjustments may be made at the discretion of the Ag Science Teacher.

*Please note that activity points are given at the discretion of the ag teacher. At the time of an event where points are used to determine eligibility, the students with the most number of points will be allowed the first opportunity.

**A student is allowed in a school year up to ten absences not related to post-district competition, a maximum of 5 absences for post district prior to state, and a maximum of two absences for state. It is not the agriscience teacher’s responsibility to keep up with a student’s absences. The student should be responsible and use their absences wisely!
